“The study of asana is not about mastering posture. It’s about using posture to understand and transform yourself.”
-BKS Iyengar
It is advisable to take at least 3 -6 months or more in a Level I Beginner Class before moving on to Level II. Many students prefer to stay in the Level I classes as this class is challenging for all levels of ability. If you already have some yoga experience, Iyengar yoga or another tradition, you are welcome to join us. Refer to the class descriptions and come to a class that most fits your experience level. Note that the highest level class (levels 2 and 3) is recommended for those who already have a strong background in Iyengar Yoga. We believe that yoga is a continual process of learning and growth. Our class levels are structured to reflect a progression based on experience, depth of understanding and skill level. This natural progression provides a foundation for growth based on the previous level. Although we have provided guidelines, we encourage you to move from one level to the next at your own pace. Please feel free to ask our advice or give us a call if you are uncertain about which level is most appropriate for you.
